Director since 1999. Andrew is an orthopaedic surgeon and is the founder of the Victorian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Clinic based at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria.
For nearly two decades he has been responsible for the training of Victorian & Tasmanian Orthopaedic Registrars and fellows in the area of Foot and Ankle surgery.
Andrew is actively involved in numerous research projects in the treatment of conditions of the foot and ankle and the use of information technologies to improve healthcare delivery. He has published his research findings in international journals. He is an international reviewer for Foot and Ankle International Journal.
Andrew is a past board member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and past Chair of its Asia Pacific Committee and remains the Chair of its Patient Education Committee. Andrew has also been a member of the AOA National Joint Replacement Registry since 2007.
In partnership with the Epworth Hospital and the AOA, Andrew established the Victorian Orthopaedic Observership Program in 2015. This program has sponsored more than 50 orthopaedic surgeons and nurses from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to stay in Melbourne to update their clinical skills. In partnership with Orthopaedic Outreach, Andrew has led 12 surgical teams to teach the principles of contemporary orthopaedic surgery in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to his surgical schedule, Andrew serves on several other professional orthopaedic, research and hospital governance committees as an active contributor and policy maker.
